With stunning, uninterrupted views of the Waitemata Harbour and situated in the heart of downtown Auckland, Queens Wharf is a premier event location. The wharf offers two strikingly different venues – Shed 10 and The Cloud alongside the outdoor public space available for larger events.

Queens Wharf is managed by Auckland Live, a business division of Regional Facilities Auckland, which is a council-controlled organization, charged with enriching life in Auckland by engaging people in the arts, environment, sport and events. The vision is to ensure that Queens Wharf is a space that provides something for all Aucklanders, is Auckland’s primary cruise ship facility and is a leading location for events in Auckland. The multi-discipline team brings years of hospitality, venue and events management experience to ensure that your event is a success.

QUEENS WHARF AUCKLAND HISTORY

Queens Wharf lies at the foot of Queen Street and has always been a focal point of the waterfront, due to its central city location. Completed in 1913, Queens Wharf played an important role in the transport corridors that connected the city with both local and international ports – being the hub through which goods were exported and imported, and people arrived and departed. Purchased in 2009 for the people of Auckland, Queens Wharf represents an important part of Auckland’s history – and future.

THE LOCATION
Conveniently located next to the ferry terminal and opposite Britomart Transport Centre, Queens Wharf is easily accessible to all visitors. In the heart of the Auckland CBD, it is within walking distance of countless hotels, shopping and dining options.

SHED 10

Built in 1910, Shed 10 is the only original building that remains on Queens Wharf. The shed is a heritage-listed building that for much of its life was used to store cargo on Queens Wharf before it was shipped overseas.
Shed 10 has undergone a thoughtful restoration that retains the heritage elements you’d expect in a unique premium events space.
The ground floor retains the shed’s robust industrial character with a concrete floor, steel columns and exposed beams. The upper floor is warm and rich in character and detail, with timber flooring, exposed steel trusses and a gable ceiling with occasional skylights.

SHED 10 GROUND FLOOR

At over 2000m2 the ground floor is a flexible space, suitable for exhibitions, fashion shows, gala dinners and product launches

SHED 10 LEVEL 1

From a light and airy atrium space, level 1 of Shed 10 opens out to reveal a spacious floor with windows both ends overlooking the Waitemata Harbour and back to the city.

The Cloud

The Cloud is a unique, modern structure that has quickly become a landmark along Auckland’s waterfront. Designed by Jasmax, The Cloud reflects Aotearoa, land of the long white cloud. The Cloud was erected as a temporary structure to accommodate Auckland’s commitment to host an inner-city Fanzone during the Rugby World Cup 2011, and has since won a place in the hearts of Aucklanders

THE CLOUD EXHIBITION FLOOR

With a length of almost 180 metres, the ground floor is ideal for exhibitions, gala dinners, showcases, product launches and fashion events.

Upper Mezzanine

With breathtaking views across the Waitemata Harbour, the mezzanine space at the northern end of The Cloud has a capacity of 230, making it the perfect location for cocktail parties, meetings, drinks receptions, dinners and weddings.

Lower Mezzanine

With doors that open out on the northern end of Queens Wharf, the lower mezzanine is suitable for cocktail events and banquets, and enables your event to flow easily onto the waterfront.

Outside Spaces

Queens Wharf lies at the foot of Queen Street in the heart of downtown Auckland. With large open spaces, the outdoor area of the wharf is available for hire, either as an extension of events taking place in The Cloud and Shed 10, or for stand-alone outdoor events.
